Capitol Chrysler Dodge Jeep & RAM in Jefferson City, MO, is looking for an experienced full time Automotive Service Clerk to join our team! The right candidate would need accounting and cashier experience. We take your career aspirations very seriously!
The Automotive Service Clerk would receive payment for products or services sold by the dealership and plays a key role in maintaining or creating customer satisfaction for the business transaction. Answers dealership switchboard and directs calls to appropriate department and or person. Enters data, scans, and files customers, parts, and warranty invoices into the Company programs, and performs cashier and accounting daily.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer incoming telephone calls, direct consumer to the proper department and satisfy customer inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
Greet customers and determine the nature of their visit, be friendly, professional, courteous, and efficient when working with all customers and employees.
Direct customers to the correct department, notify the appropriate person that a customer is waiting, and introduce the customer.
Review closed repair orders to ensure they are complete and procures necessary items as required.
Accurately file warranty, accounting, parts, and service documentation.
Tracks warranty parts by tagging with repair order number, date of replacement, and date on which part may be disposed of.
Enter repair orders and parts invoices into service system and balance daily.
Calculates customer billing, receives cash, checks or credit card payments from customers; and records amount received.
Makes change and issues receipts to customers.
Provides refunds or credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise or as directed by managers.
Reconciles cash drawer daily and report balances.
Assists in monthly closings.
Answers customer questions about service performed or products purchased or refers them to someone who can.
Handles customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refers dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individuals for resolution.
Maintain a professional appearance and grooming with the Company dress code policy.
Assist Service Department with clerical duties as required.
ATTENDANCE EXPECTIONS / EXPECTED NORMAL HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and typical normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and some Saturday may be required 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” normal work hours.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience working in the automotive industry.
General Accounting or Accounts Payable experience.
A valid driver’s license and a driving record clear of major violations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (preferred, but not required)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Certified Financial Analyst (CFA)
Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
